As part of the Greening Economic Transformation in Rwanda, Intwari Foundation is working closely with farmers to promote sustainable practices that not only restore the environment but also improve livelihoods.
Project Goals:
The project is designed to deliver multiple benefits to farming communities:
- Increased Income: By introducing climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, and value-added crop processing, farmers can diversify and boost their earnings.
- Improved Nutrition: We encourage the cultivation of diverse, nutrient-rich crops that support healthier diets for families and communities.
- Climate Resilience: Through techniques like soil conservation, water harvesting, and drought-tolerant crops, farmers are better protected from the effects of climate change.
- Environmental Restoration: Our farming approach restores soil fertility, reduces land degradation, and enhances carbon sequestration.
- Biodiversity Conservation: Integrating native species and sustainable land use practices helps preserve wildlife habitats and promote ecological balance.
Long-Term Vision:
This initiative is more than a project—it’s a pathway to rural transformation. By making green farming attractive, productive, and resilient, Intwari Foundation is empowering farmers to become guardians of both the land and their future.
